Matt and Kelly had finished their home to a very high standard apart from the ensuite and bathroom. The main bathroom was for the grown up kids and needed a bath as well as a shower. They were considering just a walk in shower or a bath shower, I gave them the third option of having the bath next to the shower. It really is a great option and is a real space saver, not only that it gives you more room and makes cleaning a breeze. We didn’t go full height and left space between the tiles and cornice, this gives the illusion of more height and softens the room. The black tapware is very dramatic and is carried on throughout with the switches, plugs and fittings. We actually just replaced the glass to obscure and painted the frame, Wilson our painter finish is top notch and you wouldn’t know its not the original colour. We used an inset instead of a freestanding bath as Matt and Kelly wanted the window to remain. The inset bath is not as high as the free-standing bath so fitted below the window. I actually like the finish with the tiled in bath, different to a free standing look but works great in this room.

In the ensuite we carried the theme through, the addition of the ceiling mounted rain shower, coupled with a removable wall shower gives this space a feeling of luxury. Heated floors, floating vanity, mirrored cabinet really makes this ensuite an amazing space to use. The two mixers in the shower mean you can operate both shower heads at once, Matt has let us know this is a showering experience he would definitely recommend to anyone.
